Yield and Storage

  • Servings: Makes about 2 servings (3–4 tablespoons each)
  • Refrigerator: Up to 2 days in an airtight container

Ingredients

  • Proteins and Veggies:

    • 2 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breast or thigh (thigh adds more healthy fats)
    • 1 small carrot, peeled and chopped (about 2 ounces)
    • ¼ ripe avocado (about 2 tablespoons mashed)
  • Seasonings and Liquid:

    • ¼ cup breastmilk or low-sodium chicken broth (for blending)
    • ½ teaspoon olive oil (for extra healthy fats)
    • ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ⅛ teaspoon cumin
    • ⅛ teaspoon onion powder

Directions

  1. Cook the Carrot & Chicken:

    1. In a small pot, bring ½ cup water or broth to a gentle boil.
    2. Add the chopped carrot and simmer for 8–10 minutes, or until fork-tender.
    3. Gently place the chicken into the same pot and poach for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until fully cooked (internal temperature reaches 165°F / 74°C).
    4. Remove the chicken and carrot from the pot and let them cool slightly.
  2. Mash the Avocado:

    1. While the chicken and carrot cool, mash the avocado in a small bowl until smooth.
  3. Blend Until Smooth:

    1. Transfer the cooked chicken, carrot, and mashed avocado to a blender or food processor.
    2. Drizzle in ½ teaspoon olive oil and sprinkle in the ⅛ teaspoon each of garlic powder, cumin, and onion powder.
    3. Pour in ¼ cup breastmilk or low-sodium broth to help with blending.
    4. Blend until smooth and creamy, adding more liquid 1 tablespoon at a time if needed for the desired consistency.
